1. To enable, facilitate and support everyone to contribute to a rich event report and resource everyone can use back in their organisations e.g. if you see and hear about the real impact of a particular technology, strategy, technique that you wish to implement or improve back in your own organisation how useful would it be to have access to everyone’s ideas and reflections regarding the same solution?
2. To demonstrate and disseminate the real impact the 3 years of MoLeNET has achieved and to use similar technologies and techniques throughout the day to evidence how simple and effective the use of m-learning can be.
The plugins and apps for using WordPress with the iPod Touch (and iPhone) seem really great. The first thing I tried was the free WordPress app which seems to work really well including the option to include and upload photos.

The screenshot below shows the write screen.
There are limited options but anything more complicated would probably be best done on a larger screen device.:

WordPress Theme Having installed the WP iPod Touch plugin I have to say it seems to work brilliantly. The 1st screenshot below shows the standard blog postings with links to search and also a link to the menu.

This is the menu view showing the icons I chose in the plugin configuration. There’s also a link in the footer to switch to view the site via the normal theme and back again. Although my normal theme seems ok on the Touch this optimised theme does work much better. Thumbs up to the developers for a great job!
I was looking for a way to capture screenshots on my iPod touch and started searching online for a solution. I was assuming that I needed to download an application of some sort but then I found a video tutorial on technorati showing how easy it is using the latest iPod Touch software. Basically it’s get to the screen you want to capture, hold in the menu button then quickly press the on/off button and that’s it! The screen goes white momentarily and the image gets stored in a saved images directory in the main images directory. The clips below shows this in action.
In addition to the new XOT template themes I mentioned in an earlier post, with the release of Xerte Online Toolkits v3.6 we’ve added the ability to add Bootstrap template themes to an installation and I’ve created a handful that are included in the new release. Those shown are Dark: Black & Grey, Flat: Apereo […]
There will be a number of new themes available with the release of Xerte 3.6. I’ve been working on these on and off for quite some time and some I’ll be keeping for exclusive use by the organisations that contract me to support their use of Xerte and therefore contribute to these developments, but a […]
This is a topic that seems to crop up more and more now given that Xerte is so well established in many organisations with lots of staff and even students authoring Xerte projects and in a way is a good problem to have because it often reflects wider and more effective use. However all those […]
On behalf of the wonderful people of the Xerte developer community, we are pleased to announce that the latest version of Xerte Online Toolkits, v3.3 is now available. The most significant aspect of this release provides support for SCORM tracking for a much wider range of interactions. The following page types can now all be […]
